My grassroots philosophy
I firmly believe that stewardship of our society begins with the individual. And as an artist, I like to think I’m walking my own talk.
In 2005 I founded a non-for-profit theatre program for youth in Ottawa’s rural south. Theatre is such a wonderful inclusive environment where kids with and without special needs come together to discover the joy of theatre, while developing self-esteem and respect for individuals from all walks of life.
The theatre program concluded in 2019 and now Portrait My Pet is my next initiative. This time my focus has shifted from under-served youth to supporting furry friends! Part of all proceeds are donated to the Ottawa Humane Society who work so hard for animals in need.
But it doesn’t have to stop there. If you are also supporting a charity that you’re passionate about I may be able to help. Contact me if you are fundraising for a worthy cause and I’ll donate a portrait.
